Christmas Pictures

Here are some of my favorites from our recent Christmas pictures!

May your days be merry and bright...

Sneak Peek

Cody and I haven't had pictures done in over 2 years! So I thought we would get some new pictures for Christmas cards this year. A friend of mine Cassey was sweet enough to squeeze us in so I can hurry to get Christmas cards out. I think they are going to be pretty cute. Poor Cassey got stuck shooting a few in the rain!

Here is the first one she took. She was testing the lighting and wasn't even aiming for a good shot and it turned out pretty cute! Franky did so good! I will post more as they come!

Trunks and Treasures

Every Christmas I load up on sweet little girl clothes for my neice Jacy, and well...
1. I never see her wear any of it, probably because I am a total girly-girl and love the big over the top bows and tutus, and well my sister in law is totally opposite.
2. They outgrow stuff so fast!
3. Clothes are totally boring to a 3 year old!

So, this year I came across the facebook page Trunks and Treasures. They have the cutest vintage suitcases that are hand painted, made to store dress up clothes or anything really. Again, I know I think of dress up clothes...BUT I did say it could store other things! Anyhow, I got her one made for Christmas this year and I love it!!! Check them out on facebook!

thirty-one

I hosted a thirty-one product party last night and we had a blast. Cody went to the deer lease for opening day of bow hunting and I had a bunch of ladies over for a party. If you haven't seen their products, you should check out their webpage. www.thirtyonegifts.com. Some of their stuff can be kind of pricey, but some of it is reasonable. But, you can earn a lot of free products and half price products if you host a party. I got a lot for myself and then picked up some things for my mom for Christmas.

Time for a change...

I am one of those people that needs change regularly. Is that strange? Maybe it's because I get bored or I am never satisfied.

Don't get me wrong, I love the life I live, but lately I feel like something is missing. I love my job, but this year it doesn't seem like I am my happy, smiley self. I love my home, but I constantly find myself browsing homes.com in towns closer to my best friend, or closer to Cody's job. I haven't even had my car two years and I am constantly searching for a different car. And every month I'm thinking of a new hair color or cut! I seriously think I just get bored!

We bought our house two years ago because it was convenient to both of our jobs. Everyone in our town was born and raised here. I guess, sometimes I feel like we are outsiders because we haven't been here our whole lives. It is a total shocker that I even got hired in the school district because I am one of the few that didn't graduate from here. Homecoming was last weekend and everyone was making plans to attend, and Cody and I had no desire to go. And we have no desire to go to either of our high school's homecomings or football games.

I guess this place just doesn't feel like home. If only I could pick our little house up and move it...Cody just started a new job working all over the metroplex and I am a teacher so we could easily pick up and move. All of our closest friends are in or around Stephenville. I really think that is where I want to be. But, then again maybe not and then I would be right back to square one!

We don't have children yet, and I really just want to find a place that feels like home.

I just thought I would vent or ramble a bit or see if composing my thoughts would make me feel better, but it really hasn't helped at all. I think it has just made it worse.

Now back to Pintrest and Desperate Housewives season premiere....now that makes me happy. : )

Remember...

I was a sophomore in high school when I heard the devastating news. The World Trade Center had been hit, then later the Pentagon and then that last flight that was heading towards the capitol, but never reached it's destination. It was devastating. I was young then, I didn't quite understand how it felt to lose someone or the pain that everyone felt. Ten years later, I am married and have experienced life in a totally different way. I could NEVER imagine having that last conversation with my husband, knowing that I would never talk to him or see him again.

I stayed up watching Dateline 9-11-2001 on Friday, it was heart-breaking. One lady was supposed to spend the day with her husband and celebrate their 8th wedding anniversary, but he was a fire fighter that didn't make it home. Then the stories told from the wives about their husband's overpowering the terrorists on Flight 93. We may never know what happened on that flight that day, but the passengers were so courageous and saved many people's lives by invading the cockpit. That plane never made it to it's final destination, and those passengers risked their lives to save many.

May we all remember this day and keep those who lost loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

Prayers Needed!

Please pray for our town! Whitney has a massive fire near the dam and a lot of people have lost their homes and half of the town is without power. School has been canceled. It is devastating. Luckily, we are on the other side of the lake, but please, please pray for those that are in harm's way!

Vacation 2011

I told you we were planning a trip to the coast with some college friends, we got back about a week ago. It was fun. Sadly I didn't get in half the stuff I mentioned in my previous post. The spazmatics were sold out...I was shocked. And I got out-voted on some restaurants, but all in all it was a good trip. Can I vent for a second? I hate going out of town some where and people want to eat at restaurants that are all over the place and you can go to any day! Drives me crazy!!! I'm like what?? We can go there in Fort Worth! Let's go somewhere totally new and different! Ok, now I am done. Anyhow...we did go to the U.S.S. Lexington and the Aquarium.

Our friends that live down there took us to two places called The Crazy Cajun and Snoopy's...BOTH were AWESOME! If you are ever down around Port A, I highly reccommend them! So to make this short and sweet...here are some pics.

Amanda and Ty

Yes, that is a jellyfish. Apparently the ones that look like cabbage won't sting!

Delicious Crazy Cajun! They just dump a bowl onto your table and you dig in!

The dolphin show was GREAT! This guy does a great shark impression!

Ahhhhh! Shark Attack!

Whew! look at this silver fox! That's a lot of gray hair! Am I the cause??? : )

Vacation

Last year we went to Mexico in July and had a blast. Ever since we have been adament about going on a vacation every year! Neither one of us came from families that really planned vacations and ventured out so it is a MUST! I really wanted to go back to Mexico this year, but that isn't the safest place to be right now, so we decided to take a little trip to the coast with our best friends, Amanda and Ty. We are going at the beginning of August. I have BIG plans for this trip!

We debated going to Fredericksburg or San Antonio to the Riverwalk but then Amanda's high school best friend and her husband got stationed in Corpus so we figured we could go there and all spend some time together, since that rarely happens anymore! On the Thursday we go down Bart Crow is playing at a restaurant and I reallllly want to go depending on how tired everyone is from the drive, Then Friday night there is this little group called The Spazmatics performing...I was curious who they were or if they were worth going to see so I checked them out on Youtube and Oh My Goodness! So funny! We are definitely going! Then I wanted to go to the USS Lexington and of course spend some time on the beach. There are some neat little restaurants on the beach, one is called Blackbeards and it is supposed to be pretty good, so it is a must too! Then there is a Texas Treasure Casino Ship...not sure on this one yet but thought it might be fun to gamble a little! The last day we are there, the guys are going on a fishing trip and we plan on doing some shopping! I tried the whole fishing trip thing in Mexico last summer and that was the last time, I was soooo sick! YUCK! So we will see if we get to do all of this while we are there! I sure hope so!

I will leave you with a video of The Spazmatics! http://youtu.be/gT2ZcCdpsBs

Suck it up Princess, this is Boot Camp!

I recently started going to a summer boot camp and WOW! It is tough! I have been doing Zumba for about 8 months now and I love it! My Zumba instructor Candice is awesome! She used to be Miss Texas---so she is motivation for me! You should see her...2 kids later and she looks AMAZING! I'm jealous! Anyways she started a boot camp that is for 4 weeks, twice a week. Let me just say that for the first time in my life I can say that I drug a tire up and down a field! I don't think I have ever worked out like this...at least not in years! Here are some pics!

Mom's Wedding

I've had a very busy week! I had to drive to Waco every day last week for GT training that lasted Mon-Fri from 9-4. It was exhausting driving an hour there and an hour back every day! Then my brother and his girlfriend came to stay with us on Friday night so I had been so stressed making sure the house was clean and they would have everything they needed!

Yesterday was my mom's wedding. I am so happy for her!! She hasn't had a lot of luck with men! But I think she found a keeper! Of course there is always a catch and his happens to be that he is 48 with a 3 year old! Yep! Crazy and he has full custody! So I now have a 3 year old step brother! Anyways their wedding was so pretty and intimate and again I cannot say how happy I am for them!!

Here are a few pictures...

Catching Up!

Where have we been the past month or more? Well...let me tell ya! The month of May was so busy for us and I wish I could find the camera so I could have got some pictures! I will do my best to post some visuals to go with this post so it isn't too boring.

My birthday was at the beginning of May so a group of us went out to dinner at Buzzard Billy's--YUM! And then we went to see Rodney Carrington. Let me tell you about this guy! Well....Rodney Carrington does stand up comedy and is known for being completely vulgar and gross!!! I was expecting way worse than what it was! He was soooo funny!!! He told us that as his kids are beginning to get older he is beginning to clean it up. His jokes were all jabs at being married, and then he told us all about his family, he told us about a recent trip to the zoo with his son's class, and he told us how he feels going to church with his reputation, etc...sooo funny! It was great! We definitely plan on seeing him again!

Below is a little clip of Rodney Carrington in Dallas...I'm reminding you it's for Mature Audiences Only. Do not play this with kids around.

And on my birthday May 9th, Cody found the time to finally get Lasik Eye Surgery. I so wish I had a picture of him wearing the goggles they gave him! It was so funny! He joked that he was a Professional Raquetball Player. Sooo funny! But he would never let me snap a picture! He is recovering quickly and was back to work the very next day and back on the lake the very next week, where he won a Working Man's tourney.

The following weekend my neighbor/good friend Jessica graduated from Tarleton. Congrats to her! She has worked her booty off since I've known her. She works full time at the bank in town, raises 2 kids and was taking a full load at Tarleton and going through the I Teach Texas program to become teacher certified! Can you say WOW!!!?? So we all went to Stephenville to watch her graduate. We enjoyed some great food at Bull Nettle and then watched her walk across the stage! Now she can take a breather and finish up I Teach Texas! She is hoping to find a job teaching around here for the upcoming school year---so PRAY for her...we all know teachers are struggling to find and keep jobs right now!!!

Bull Nettle

Aren't they a cute little family!! Wish Dudley would grin once in a while! Hahaha!

Next....Memorial Day weekend! We went to eat at Pappadeaux and see the Rangers play the Royals. AWESOME game! I wish we could see the Rangers once a week! We kicked booty and hit home run after home run! We won! That Sunday we went out for some time on the lake. Thank goodness we have a boat now! We went out with our neighbors and went tubing and cooked out a few days! It was fun! I don't know how we made it through last summer living a mile from the boat ramp and boat-less!!! It was horrible!

Please excuse this horrible picture! I was a Sweaty Betty! We had been sitting in the 100 degree heat for a few hours!!!

And NOW---School's Out for Summer!! Woohoo!!!! Our last day of school was June 3rd. I got to start off the summer break with Strep Throat! Ugh! I haven't been sick one time this year and then the last day of school it hits me! Boo! It was horrible! All of the kinder teachers went out for margaritas and to see Hangover 2 (don't pass judgement!! : ) ) and I missed it all to be stuck at home in bed while they celebrated summer time! When I got to feeling better Cody took me to eat at Caddo Street Grill and to see Hangover 2....I was so disappointed. Don't waste the money. Wait for it to come out on PPV or rental.

And yesterday I went to my high school best friend, Stacey's,  for her little girl Kinzey's 4th birthday party. Bless her heart...I showed up at Stacey's a little over and hour early and she answers the door in tears freaking out because nothing is ready! So I jumped in and helped out! Stacey is an RN and had got home at 7 am, took a little nap and got up to get everything ready and nothing was working out for her! It came together great and she finally got to relax a little!!

Birthday girl-Kinzey

That's it for now! I think I covered everything! Now that I am off for the summer...maybe I can stay on top of our blog more often.

My New Favorite Thing!

I got one of these hats in Canton and I bought two flowers to go on the hat. The flowers are held on by little magnets. So this weekend I bought a solid black hat and I am beginning to find all different kinds of flowers to attach onto my hats. I think they are soo cute!
